Why is Exchange 2016 using DNS A record instead of MX record to send mail?
Exchange 2016 trying to send mail to sargb.com. Instead of sending to their MX "sargb-com.mail.protection.outlook.com", it is sending mail to sargb.com (18.235.162.72). I cleared the DNS cache on the 2-domain controllers and flushed DNS on Exchange. What should I try next? TiA!
Copying and linking Excel tables (landscape mode) to Word (portrait mode)
Hello, I want to insert tables from Excel into a Word document. However, the Word document is in portrait orientation and has a header and footer that need to be located on the narrow side margins of the pages displaying the tables as they would in portrait mode. The tables, on the other hand, are large enough to span across multiple pages in landscape orientation and need to be separated - automatically at best. Ideally, the table would automatically repeat the header row at the top of each new page. Additionally, the inserted Excel table would be linked to the original file, so changes in the .xlsx file would reflect in the table inserted in the Word document. How can I achieve this goal? Here is what I have tried already: section breaks - helps, inserting and linking the table in landscape mode but issues with footer, header and page breaks arise creating an extra text field and rotating the table - no link and therefore no updated data in the table, next to the issue with page breaks In the end I need to insert around 20-30 multi-page long tables in landscape format and would really appreciate avoiding a tremendous amount of work, every time I need to update the data in the tables. We have an old VB program that copies contacts from Microsoft Exchange to our SQL database. This worked fine for many years until 2017 when it started getting duplicated OrganizationalIDNumber from new contacts. I have been manually worked around this problem ever since (because I was busy and I am not familiar with this VB program). Now that I get some time, I want to fix this problem for good. We are expecting the OrganizationalIDNumber to be "1", "2", "3", .... But the new contacts all get the same ID "4303". I am under the impression that OrganizationalIDNumber is 32-bit. This should represent a very large number. Moreover, the program is using it as a string, and it is saved in our database as a varchar(255) data field. The ID should not be truncated (or so I thought). This certainly appears like the ID is being truncated though. My questions are: Does this look like something that you have come across? What is the solution? Where is the configuration setting in Microsoft Exchange that defines the data type of OrganizationalIDNumber? Our Exchange is version 2016. Please help if you can. Mailboxtype is not changed after migration to ExchangeOnline
Hello, i have completed an usermailbox migration and all things are running, but on the on-prem Exchange2016 ist the Mailboxtype not changed to O365-Mailbox. can i do this change with hands? is this change important when i will migrate to cloudOnly? Thx for answers 🙂Mail Flow Loop prevention
We are setting up an environment where we have a shared smtp between 2 exchange organization for migration. So on each organization we'll configure a send connector for the SMTP domain.com ( internal relay ) To prevent a mail loop for non existent recipient I think a mail flow rule must be created, and I saw some articles that I couldn't find anymore, to check for the X-headers. Can anyone help me providing some examples ? thanks
Exchange Mailbox copy Databases Keep Disconnect
Hello, Since June 26th, PRTG has been notifying me about the disconnection of the copy databases on the secondary Exchange server. Each time, I receive an alert about one of the copy databases hosted on the secondary Exchange server, and it comes back online in less than 5 minutes. Everything is working fine on the primary Exchange server, and the mounted databases on the secondary server are also functioning properly. Only the copy databases on the secondary Exchange server keep disconnecting and go back online in less than 5 minutes.HELP: can't login client computer, exchange server 2016
So I need to setup an exhange mail server for a school task. I need to be able to login on a windows client with an exchange account. I did everything right, installed the exchange server and connected the windows client to my domain "sendit.be". But am not able to login on my exchange account on my windows client (see screenshots) I hope someone can help me. Thank you in advance!
