This week, I had the opportunity to attend the TEDx Presentation Skills Masterclass for Professionals by Believe In Greatness. It was a powerful reminder that even with a strong foundation in data and analytics, the real challenge and opportunity lie in how effectively we communicate what we know. A huge thank you to Gordon Williams for delivering an engaging, insightful session. What stood out for me was the focus on the psychological side of public speaking, the internal blocks we may not realise we have, and the mindset shifts and preparation needed to truly connect with our audience. I’m looking forward to continuing this journey of building not just technical capability, but communication that inspires action.

  • A powerful weekend with 10 incredible professionals who transformed over 12 hours of intensive training, from anxious to confident communicators, ready to own any room. As one participant put it: “If you knew without a doubt you’d succeed after 20 failures—how quickly would you be willing to fail?”

This weekend I chose a public speaking course over the Lions series win vs Australia 🫣 🗣️ 🦁 Throughout 2025 I’ve consistently tried to push myself out of my comfort zone, personally and professionally. A BIG part of that was increasing confidence in public speaking/pitching etc. So… I chose to lean in and do something about it by booking onto the Believe In Greatness Public Speaking programme delivered by ex Apprentice star Frederick Afrifa. The weekend was filled with learning, practice, repetition, feedback, failure, more feedback, more failure but most importantly increased confidence. I’m proud of myself for booking on, it would have been far easier not to, and I look forward to putting lessons learnt into practice over the next few months… Thanks Fred and thanks to Emily Stewart for the recommendation a few months ago. If any of my connections want to learn more about the course, I would HIGHLY recommend it and always available for a call to discuss. #comfortzone #development #publicspeaking #growth

One of the highlights of my career. 🥹 Today the Believe In Greatness team & I delivered a presentation at the The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) professional conference. It warms my heart that such a prestigious university understands that the world has changed & in the digital age, communication skills are no longer a “soft skill” … they’re your most powerful career tool. I had a blast & I look forward to continued collaborations with one of the best universities in the world.

Feedback Friday 🌟 Don’t just take our word for it, here’s what attendees had to say about our recent Generation Next public speaking masterclass. Feedback like this underscores the importance of creating spaces where young professionals can build confidence and develop essential skills. Why does this matter? According to Deloitte's 2025 Gen Z and Millennial Survey, learning and development opportunities rank among the top three reasons Gen Zs choose their current employers. This highlights a clear desire for growth and meaningful engagement in the workplace. If you're passionate about nurturing young talent in your organisation, we'd love to connect. Reach out to learn how to get involved or support future events! Or, if you're a young professional looking to find out more about our upcoming Events and Workshops. Generation Next is a new initiative launched by Surrey Chambers of Commerce and we've got some exciting things to look forward to! ☀️ And finally... we're looking forward to our Annual Summer BBQ next week at the Royal Automobile Club. The weather forecast is promising...23 degrees?! See you there! 🥂 Believe In Greatness

What an amazing experience! I had the best time at the Transformative Communication & Presentation Masterclass at King's College London. Over two days, we built confidence, learned practical techniques, and got real-time feedback that made a huge difference in how we communicate and present. Big thanks to Frederick Afrifa and Gordon at Believe In Greatness for their brilliant coaching and to everyone who took part—it was such an inspiring and supportive space! If you want to feel more confident with public speaking, I’d definitely recommend this masterclass! #PublicSpeaking #CommunicationSkills #ProfessionalGrowth #KingsCollegeLondon

  • Have You Ever Felt Like You Were Losing Your Audience? You’re standing in front of a room, delivering your speech, but something feels off. People are shifting in their seats, checking their phones, or looking distracted. You start to panic—are they even listening? I’ve been there, and I know how frustrating it can be. But here’s what I’ve learned: great public speaking isn’t about being perfect, it’s about being clear, adaptable, authentic, and resilient.
