We’re excited to have begun work to deliver a 420-pupil primary school near Burton upon Trent! Drakelow Primary School – the latest in a long line of educational establishments to be delivered by Clegg Construction - will be sustainably located at the heart of a 2,200-home residential estate currently under construction by client Countryside Partnerships on the former Drakelow power station site. Designed by multi-disciplinary consultants ONE Creative environments (ONE) , the new school’s indoor and outdoor areas will maximise the learning experience, with classrooms flowing onto outdoor teaching spaces to allow for integration of inside and outside teaching. New sports facilities, including a 3G pitch, will be included, as well as a habitat area to provide forest school experiences. The building’s heating capacity will be met by externally mounted air source heat pumps and the school will benefit from underfloor heating fed from a low-temperature hot water system from the central heat pump plant. Michael Moore, operations director at Countryside Partnerships, said: “Having worked together to develop the reserved matters application for Drakelow Primary School, we are pleased to appoint Clegg Construction for the delivery phase of this exciting project. “The new building will be a valuable addition to the Drakelow development, providing a modern, sustainable and attractive environment in which students can learn and thrive.” ℹ️ 🔗 For more information, please see the link in the comments section 📸 Image credit: One Creative environments 📸

A Special Touch We were thrilled to share a special moment with Coventry City Council last week at the Woodlands school renovation project — the installation of artwork designed by the students themselves! Students at the school created the vibrant artwork that is now proudly displayed at the entrance to the site for all to see. This mural is not just decoration, but a reminder of who we’re building for – future generations! Involving the children helps give them an even more personal connection to the project and the opportunity play a positive role in the changes happening around them at school. A big thank you to the staff and pupils who made this possible. Your creativity has truly brightened up the site. Brick by Brick: Progress at SITraN We were proud to help host a special brick laying event with our client The University of Sheffield. The event was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the fundraising efforts and collaboration of all parties to drive this project forward. Guests had the chance to lay the first ceremonial bricks and hear from Dame Professor Pamela Shaw, Director of SITraN about how the new facility will support groundbreaking research into improving the lives of people with neurodegenerative diseases and will also feature new state of the art teaching facilities. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and to all the teams involved for your hard work and dedication. This is an exciting step in delivering a transformative space for the Faculty of Health. 🌿 Net walking at Attenborough Nature Reserve with BSP Consulting & Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust It was a pleasure to take part in a net walking event at the stunning Attenborough Nature Reserve this morning despite the rain! The event brought together professionals from across the region for a refreshing blend of networking and well being. Walking and talking through the reserve offered a great opportunity to build connections and learn more about the important conservation work being carried out by Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust. It was also a valuable reminder of the role that green spaces play in supporting mental well being. Thank you to BSP Consulting for partnering with us and to Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust for sharing their insights. #Netwalking #Networking #WellbeingAtWork Leonard Design IMA Architects Stephen George + Partners LLP EMEC Ecology Pulse Consult EDGE Infrastructure Planning and Design Limited Lewis & Hickey Architects CPMG Architects Influence Landscape Planning and Design
