Ministerial Visit to Hinch Distillery! On Wednesday 30 July, we were delighted to welcome Fleur Anderson, Northern Ireland Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, to Hinch Distillery in County Down. The visit focused on the opportunities presented by the newly signed UK–India Free Trade Agreement (FTA) a landmark deal set to unlock significant export potential for Northern Ireland’s premium spirits industry. This engagement reflects the UK Government’s broader commitment to growing exports and strengthening global trade connections as part of the Department for Business and Trade’s 'Plan for Change' strategy. Northern Ireland’s whiskey, agri-food, medtech, and advanced manufacturing sectors are all expected to benefit from future trade agreements. During the visit, our Distillery Manager and Head Distiller William Stafford shared: “India represents a generational opportunity for Hinch. With tariffs now dramatically reduced for UK-origin spirits, the FTA gives Northern Ireland a real edge in one of the world’s largest whiskey markets. Our newly released Hinch Single Malt and Peated Single Malt are milestone expressions crafted, matured, and bottled right here in County Down. Hinch Distillery Joins U.S. Independence Day Celebrations Hinch Distillery was proud to support the U.S. Consul General’s 249th Independence Day celebration at Ardnavally, Shaw’s Bridge. Meet the Maker – Food and Drink Showcase   Hinch Distillery was proud to take part in the first-ever Meet the Maker event hosted by Tourism Northern Ireland at the stunning Galgorm Resort last week.   The showcase brought together over 50 local food and drink producers and more than 70 industry representatives from across the tourism and hospitality sector, highlighting the depth of talent and innovation within Northern Ireland’s food and drink scene.   Representing Hinch on the day was Claire McLernon, who featured in a special video capturing the spirit of the event – celebrating connection, collaboration and the growing appetite to champion local.   With food and drink now accounting for over 35% of all tourism spend, we are delighted to be part of a movement that puts provenance and quality at the heart of the visitor experience.   🎥 Watch Claire share her thoughts from the event in the video below 📍 Planning your next day out?
