These vital parts absorb regular impact when working while also protecting other areas of the machine from excessive friction such as the frame, bucket and boom. How do pins and bushes protect: • They reduce harmful vibration and impact by absorbing shocks during operation. • They maintain structural integrity by avoiding misalignment that could lead to performance issues, and ensuring the machine’s linkage system operates effectively. • Bushings create a protective barrier around the pin to avoid metal-on-metal friction leading to rapid wear. • Proper maintenance of the pins, as per your operations manual, may include lubrication and turning of the pins which increases the components lifespan and reduces downtime.
