PocDoc - leading the way in smartphone-based rapid testing for cardiovascular, metabolic and renal disease.

About us

PocDoc is a digital health platform developed with the vision of allowing anyone with a smartphone or tablet to test themselves for a range of major diseases or conditions via a fingerprick of blood, receive a full health assessment that puts those results in context and then be offered solutions to address any health-related issues that arise. The PocDoc platform has been designed to work with our proprietary, quantitative blood tests, which have been developed in-house and are focused on preventative disease areas (Cardiovascular Disease, Metabolic Disease and Renal Disease ). The platform can also integrate other existing rapid tests, digitise the results, and provide the same health assessment and follow-on care pathways. PocDoc successfully rolled out the PocDoc Healthy Heart Check, which focuses on cardiovascular disease in homes, communities, healthcare organisations and pharmacies across the United Kingdom. PocDoc's technology has been granted multiple patents worldwide and is set to be the first home testing diagnostic service to fully integrate with the NHS app. Featured in the BBC News, BBC Breakfast News, The Daily Mail, The Telegraph and The Guardian. PocDoc has won 3 Innovate UK awards and MedTech Breakthrough award for its technology. Eggs and Chocolate Cereal both Nutri-Score A. How is that possible? This actually happened to me today. Breakfast time ☕ with the kids... Eggs - Nutri-Score A. ✅ Nestle Chocapic - Nutri-Score A. 😵💫 How can we expect any busy family to make better choices if these two items are labelled as equally healthy? Answer: Nutri-Score is massively flawed. ❌ It only applies in category. > So chocolate cereal to chocolate cereal. ❌ Doesn't account for UPF. > Healthy foods penalised. ❌ Supported by Big Food. > Hmmm is that ethical? 🤑 Healthcare systems are investing billions in drugs to inject into ourselves but failing to address basic food issues like sensible, healthy labelling. What do you think about food labelling? Let me know 👇 in comments. ♻️ Repost to anyone who cares about healthy food for families. • 📈 Research shows consistent and earlier daily physical activity can help to boost heart health. A new study in the Medicine & Science in Sports and Exercise journel suggests that the time and consistency of exercise Not just the amount of exercise, but also has the potential to boost heart and lung health in older adults significantly 🫀 Dr Karyn Esser revealed that moving earlier and maintaining consistency may work in harmony with your circadian clock to help protect your health. Exercise has been known to be a great way to reduce your risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD). 🏃The NHS recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity a week. Or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity activity, and strength exercises on two or more days a week. In addition to exercise, monitoring your heart health can help you understand your risk of developing CVD and assess the status of your heart health. ♻️ Like, share and repost for more healthtech and healthcare news.

Popstar in China to Pioneer in AI cancer detection. Giles has the most incredible story - listen now: What. A. Story. 🤯 If you need a lift, listen to this show. 💥 After losing his mother at 16, Giles realised there was no-one knew what was going to happen, there was no masterplan and he was on his own. He needed to get good at dealing with uncertainty. So Giles then went to China, where he: 1️⃣ Taught himself Mandarin. 2️⃣ Produced one of China's biggest rock albums ever. 3️⃣ Became a real, famous popstar himself. He then met his co-founder who had collated 800 biomarkers that when integrated into an AI model could more accurately diagnose cancer than existing methods. And the Pinpoint test was born! Currently finishing a hugely successful NHS trial, the Pinpoint test can revolutionise (in the ACTUAL sense of the word) cancer diagnosis. 🎧 LISTEN NOW: https://lnkd.in/ecz_sjRv ♻️ Repost and share this incredible story of determination, humility and absolute bonkers stuff like being a popstar in China with more people! • 🏥 Over 4,000 children and young people are living with severe diabetes in the UK. NHS's new innovation ‘Smart Scales’ is set to tackle this issue. This technology will allow NHS staff to monitor and provide continuous support to patients and their families. Without the need for frequent hospital visits. The device will be rolled out to 4 more clinics in the summer, to help 150 more children. 👉 The smart scale device, which is currently being used by around 350 patients. Can connect to a mobile app which displays the progress of their weight management without displaying specific numbers. Some complications related to obesity include type 2 diabetes, stroke, early joint replacements and mental health difficulties. In children, this condition can also affect their school attendance, impacting their future life opportunities. 🔔 Follow, repost and share us to learn more about the latest in new health tech innovations.

Ego can destroy a good business. I’ve been around startups since I was a kid watching my Dad build internet businesses before the dotcom crash. (Spoiler: that didn’t work out so well 😂) Based on my experience: 1️⃣ Ego degrades performance. > Of the individual, team and company. 2️⃣ With smaller teams it degrades faster. > So startups are at greater ego-risk. 3️⃣ Correlation of arrogance and being a 💩 operator. > Confidence is not the same thing as arrogance. I am still humbled to have been on the #1 Work podcast 🙏 TRUTH LIES AND WORK 🎧listen now: https://lnkd.in/enu8eecT

57% never been screened before. 51% at high risk of CVD. Real world impact. A random LinkedIn comment that hits hard 👊 ❤️ This is why screening needs to go into communities - including pharmacies, but even further into workplaces and homes. This comment is from our amazing West Yorkshire NHS lead about one of the PocDoc CVD screening projects there. 🙏 The 51% were connected with treatment options at point of care and results shared back with their GP. 🧨 ♻️repost to share good news in Prevention!
