Pole position for Gregor Poynton MP 🏁 We were pleased to welcome the Livingston MP to our nearby Learning & Development Centre, where he got a closer look at the training our engineers go through. Gregor didn’t just watch, he climbed both the 'training' pole and the 9m pole, getting a real feel for the physical demands of the job. Derek joined us in 1975 - aged 16 🤯 Five decades later, after a legendary run, he's retiring. Based on the Isle of Wight, Derek's done everything from delivering data at the Olympics to fixing broadband with a goat named Myrtle. He's known to colleagues as a technical genius and a brilliant human. And now he's passing the torch to his son Darren, an advanced engineer in our Complex Engineering unit! 👨👦 Here’s to a job well done 💪, a celebratory cruise 🚢 and some departing words of wisdom 🎓 : "Things always change, technology moves on. Be prepared to be flexible and always ask for help if you need it." Even the sheep are flocking to full fibre! 🐑🐑🐑 We're at the Royal Welsh Show this week doing demos with our #FullFibre kit and equipment.
