Each year, we welcome early-career professionals into our internship program to gain real-world experience and grow their skills, while helping drive our mission toward a zero-carbon future. This summer, 23 talented interns across the U.S. made meaningful contributions to our teams. In celebration of National Intern Day, we’re spotlighting their impact and experiences. We asked a few of our interns to share their biggest takeaways from the summer, and what being a power for good means to them. Our latest sustainability report is now available to read!   This Power for Good report captures our journey through the last year. One defined by challenge and change, but also by commitment, collaboration, and a shared belief that energy can be a force for good.   In 2024, we became the world’s largest independent renewable energy services provider and entered 12 new countries. We continued to deliver new sources of clean energy across the globe. We launched new digital capabilities. And we strengthened our teams by welcoming 2,000 new colleagues.   We won’t claim to have all the answers. But we are clear in our intent and proud to be part of building a future where everyone has access to affordable zero carbon energy   Read more in our report here – https://bit.ly/459X8Y1 #CorporateSocialResponsibility #ESGReporting #Sustainability #NetZero #PowerForGood

Measuring the impact of wind farm upgrades isn’t always simple, but transparency is key to unlocking their full potential. Digital solutions are transforming how we optimise turbine performance, but verifying the results can be challenging. SCADA data alone often doesn’t provide the full picture, especially without high-quality wind speed references. That’s why we developed an open-source method to overcome these limitations and build trust in the results. At Hill of Towie wind farm, our Python-based tool helped verify a 4% increase in annual energy production following an AeroUp installation, with a further 1% uplift after TuneUp. By sharing our approach, we're helping due diligence engineers, customers and industry experts evaluate upgrades with greater confidence. 📢Milestone moment for green hydrogen industry We’re pleased to confirm the latest backing from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) for HYRO's Northfleet Green Hydrogen project (a joint venture between Octopus Energy Generation and RES) – a key step forward in helping energy-intensive industrial businesses decarbonise hard-to-electrify processes. Lucy Whitford, RES’ Managing Director, UK&I, said:   "Green hydrogen, created using British low carbon energy, will revolutionise how we power industry, helping the UK to build a globally competitive, zero carbon economy in the process. We are proud of the success of HYRO’s Northfleet project, which will show how we can make green hydrogen a reality." This progress wouldn't be possible without the support of Kimberly-Clark, who have signed an offtaker agreement to use green hydrogen to fuel the tissue manufacturing process for household brands like Andrex® at their Northfleet facility in Gravesend, Kent. These agreements form part of the UK Government’s first landmark Hydrogen Allocation Round (HAR1), unlocking thousands of jobs and putting the UK at the forefront of hydrogen innovation 🫧 Minister for Industry, Sarah Jones, said:  "This government is rolling out hydrogen out at scale for the first time, with 10 of the first projects now shovel-ready to start powering businesses with clean, homegrown energy from Teesside to Devon. Hydrogen will help us cut industrial emissions and support Britain’s industrial renewal by creating thousands of jobs in our industrial heartlands as part of the Plan for Change." 🔗Read more: https://lnkd.in/eCAfuRcU #GreenHydrogen #PowerForGood

RES will manage one of Europe’s largest battery storage projects 🔋 We’re proud to be partnering with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) to manage the 500MW / 1GWh Coalburn battery storage facility in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. Built on a former coal mining site, Coalburn will help balance the UK grid by storing clean energy for when it’s needed most. From RES, we will deliver full asset management services, ensuring long-term value and performance. As Ian Hunter, our Global Head of Asset Management, put it: “Battery projects like Coalburn are essential to maximise the value of clean energy and ensure a reliable, resilient grid. We’re excited to work alongside CIP to strengthen the UK’s energy infrastructure.” Coalburn marks a major addition to our growing global storage portfolio and is a key step toward a flexible, net zero energy system. Read more here https://bit.ly/3GSE8Fc Pictured here is the Broxburn Energy Storage facility which was Scotland’s first utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) when commissioned in 2018. It was developed, constructed, and now operated by RES. #PowerForGood #CleanEnergy #EnergyTransition #BESS
