Raising more than money

About us

WHH Charity raises funds to provide additional comforts, care and experiences for the direct benefit of patients and their families beyond that which the NHS provides. Whether it's funding cutting edge equipment or refurbishing parts of the hospital, we are constantly striving to make Warrington and Halton Hospitals the best they can be. The only way we are able to do this is with your help. There are all sorts of ways that you can make a difference: you can donate to one of our appeals, become a volunteer, participate in one of our fundraisers or even organise your own sponsored event. Updates

  • “These cabinets are a sign that every person’s beliefs and values are recognised and respected.” That’s how Paul Klein, Chaplain at WHH, describes the new multi faith cabinets now available at both Warrington and Halton Hospitals. Crafted from solid oak and placed in chapel and prayer rooms, the cabinets hold holy texts, prayer cards and faith resources – offering comfort when it’s needed most. They were created by Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust’s Benchmark team who supports people living with a mental health condition through creative, skills-based projects. David Lowery, Workshop Manager at Benchmark, said: “Our hope is that the cabinets will bring reassurance and practical support to anyone who needs it.” Funded by WHH Charity, the cabinets are helping make spiritual care more accessible and inclusive – for everyone.

  • A promise made generations ago is helping families at Warrington Hospital today. We’re incredibly grateful to Buckley Street Independent Methodist Church, who have donated £65,227 to our Willow Tree Hub Appeal – helping us create a dedicated space for families facing the heartbreaking loss of a baby. Back in 1878, the church pledged that if it was ever sold, some of the proceeds would support Warrington’s health services. After holding their final service in March 2024, the trustees have honoured that promise – and their gift will now support families at their most vulnerable moments. The Willow Tree Hub, planned for the grounds of Warrington Hospital, will offer privacy, comfort and specialist care – including counselling rooms, a peaceful remembrance garden and a Rainbow Clinic to support families through pregnancy after loss. Janet Parry, Church Trustee, said: “We are so pleased to see this money go towards such a meaningful cause. Knowing that our donation will directly support people in our local community means a great deal to us all.” Read the full story and find out more about the Willow Tree Hub Appeal: https://ow.ly/RpXa50Wr3jU
