About us

YAS Charity helps fund a host of fantastic initiatives teaching thousands of people CPR and first aid skills, as well as part-funding Community Public Access Defibrillators in cities, towns, villages, and more rural areas across the region that do not already have access to them. We also support our Community Engagement team to deliver initiatives that help improve the lives of vulnerable people and reduce health inequalities. We help fund the annual YAS Restart a Heart Day which offers CPR training for secondary school children. Since launching in 2014, 234,708 students have learnt CPR during 1,047 school visits thanks to ambulance staff and volunteers who have given 39,213 hours (2014-2024). And we also support the health and wellbeing of Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) employees and volunteers who help save lives every day. We enhance and promote good physical and mental health among our YAS colleagues by providing funding for initiatives that come directly from staff suggestions. For queries about making a donation or supporting the charity email our team at yas.charity@nhs.net You can find out more about us on the YAS Charity website www.yascharity.org.uk

  • YAS charity is proud to support the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust Community Engagement Team. Dave Jones, Community Engagement Manager, kindly shared this picture of the latest group of young people who have completed the Kings Trust Get Started programme. The programme also aims to boost confidence and enhance teamwork capabilities, fostering personal growth and development. Dave commented that “It's truly inspiring to see how our efforts are making a tangible difference in the lives of our participants”. Huge thanks to Dave and the Kings Trust for your incredible work.🙏🌟💚

  • Early CPR and defibrillation with an AED can significantly increase someone’s chances of surviving a cardiac arrest.💚 For every minute that defibrillation is delayed the persons chance of survival decreases by around 10%. AEDs are compact, portable, easy to use, safe and very effective. They can be used by anyone, whether or not they have had formal training.💚 Yorkshire Ambulance Service supported by YAS Charity, has put together this informative poster guide. Share this post, spread the word and you could save a life!💚🚑💚 #SaveALife #AEDAwareness #YorkshireAmbulanceService
