    The last century took us from covered wagons on the prairie to rocket ships on the moon. Similarly, the new millennium poses a qualitatively new challenge for education which merits a shift from the traditional method to the emergence of a comparatively new concept. The prevailing education systems were based philosophies, theoretical frameworks, and practices which maintained a stagnant environment wherein educating meant to transmit knowledge from expert to novice. Similarly, the new millennium poses a qualitatively new challenge for education which merits a shift from the traditional method to the emergence of a comparatively new concept. The prevailing education systems were based philosophies, theoretical frameworks, and practices which maintained a stagnant environment wherein educating meant to transmit knowledge from expert to novice. However, these values and systems do not harmonise with the needs of the current dynamic and interwoven environments where there is an unbelievable advances and proliferation of information. In light of this rapidly changing knowledge-based society and in the face of the indeterminable abundance and variety of the information, the role of teaching and learning is changing dramatically. Thus, there is a need for a framework adapted to contemporary, international, technology driven and inter-culturally grounded contexts. This article will pursue three types of teaching and learning strategies which the writer refers to as “The Tricological Learning Approaches”.
