A voluntary recall of select Bicillin® L-A (Penicillin G Benzathine) lots distributed between Dec. 11, 2023, and June 24, 2025, is underway due to particulate matter found during visual inspection. An ongoing shortage is expected. To address this, the FDA has authorized temporary importation of Extencilline and Lentocilin©. Untreated or undertreated depression during pregnancy carries health risks, such as suicide, preterm birth, preeclampsia, and low birth weight.
