Proud to see our CEO Kylie Yates at the table of leaders, championing the voices of civil contractors and the role of women and men in shaping Australia’s economic future. Thanks to Business Sydney and Paul Nicolaou for bringing together such an impressive group of leaders and to the Hon Sussan Ley MP and Melissa McIntosh MP for engaging so constructively. Big conversations about energy policy, climate, skills & education, tax reform superannuation and more. CCF NSW is committed to ensuring the voices of women and men in civil infrastructure - and the businesses lead- are heard, valued and supported. #WomenInCivil #Leadership #Infrastructure #Inclusion #EconomicGrowth #NSWConstruction #civil CCF NSW | Civil Contractors Federation NSW Kylie Yates GAICD
Business Sydney hosted last week a Women in Business Leadership Boardroom Breakfast with the Hon. Sussan Ley MP, the Fedederal Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for Women Melissa McIntosh MP. The event brought together influential women from across Sydney’s business community to share insights, experiences and ideas on how we can better support women in leadership and ensure they are central to shaping Australia’s economic future. The conversation highlighted the incredible depth of talent among women in business — from entrepreneurs and innovators to senior executives and founders. There was strong consensus that while progress has been made, unlocking Australia’s full economic potential means ensuring that more women are not only in the room but leading it. There was also a clear call to action for government and industry to collaborate more closely in removing the systemic barriers that continue to limit women’s full participation in the workforce — whether it’s access to capital, superannuation, flexible work policies, or pathways into traditionally male-dominated sectors. Events like these are not just about highlighting challenges, but about fostering solutions, building networks, and celebrating the leadership that already exists. Business Sydney remains committed to driving these conversations forward and championing greater inclusion and equity in our business landscape. Business Sydney thanks all participants for a dynamic and inspiring discussion, and we look forward to continuing this important national conversation. #sydney #womeninbusiness #inclusion #equity #womeninpolitics #leadership #welovesydney

What an incredible day at the Women in Civil 2025 Community Celebration Luncheon at Sergeants Mess. With stunning views and an even more inspiring turnout, the event brought together passionate individuals who are committed to shaping a stronger and more inclusive civil construction industry. It was a proud moment to reflect on our shared commitment to ‘50 by 50’ — 50 percent female participation in civil construction by 2050. Progress is happening, and this community is leading the way. We also celebrated our 2025 Women in Civil Mentoring Program, featuring 34 mentors and mentees from across the entire industry. This program continues to grow as a space for connection, learning and real impact. A heartfelt thank you to our event sponsors, WesTrac Cat and Gallagher, for your support and partnership. And a huge thank you to Lizzie Williamson for her inspiring keynote. Her Two Minute Moves reminded us all to slow down, reset and take care of ourselves. We’ll definitely be adopting into our daily routines. This event was a true celebration of community, progress and what we can achieve when we work together. If you're not already part of the Women in Civil program, now is the time to get involved! 💥 #WomenInCivil #50By50 #CivilConstruction #DiversityInConstruction #MentoringMatters #CommunityCelebration #WIC2025 #TwoMinuteMoves #CCFNSW

Last Friday’s Procurement and Contracting Forum was a standout morning for the civil construction industry in Western Sydney ⚙️🚜 With a strong turnout, it’s clear tier 2, 3 and 4 contractors are hungry for local work and ready to deliver. A big thank you to Glen Mace from Transport for NSW for outlining 19 upcoming road projects. His key message: Transport is actively looking at market capacity and open to hearing where projects could be broken into smaller, more accessible packages for local businesses. Victoria Sherwood CEO of ECORR Pty Ltd - Eco Resource Recovery offered practical advice on navigating emerging sustainability mandates, sparking plenty of discussion. The morning opened with a powerful Acknowledgement of Country from Divinia Eather, reminding us that in civil construction - where we work with the earth daily - care for Country and community guides everything we do. Our expert panel—Gladys Woods, Mick Boyle and John Navamani drew strong engagement, tackling issues of project scale, procurement models, diversity, and industry capacity. Thanks for sharing your generous contributions. Thanks also to Johnathan Glinatsis from KREISSON for his sharp legal insights on contract risk. At CCF NSW | Civil Contractors Federation NSW, we’re proud to create space for these vital conversations, and to ensure local and mid-sized contractors have a voice. Thank you to everyone who joined us. We look forward to continuing the conversation and helping deliver the infrastructure Western Sydney needs. 🙌
