On 18th July, team members from our London and Ipswich offices took part in the annual charity walk organised by the DICE (Diversity, Inclusion, Communication & Equality) Forum. The walk passed by several of Artelia’s and Castons’ inspiring projects across London. We were fortunate to enjoy beautiful weather, making it a great opportunity to explore the city, connect with colleagues, and support two incredible causes. London's newest Green Space has officially opened! The largest new park to be created in the capital since the 2012 Olympics is now open to the public in south-west London! Springfield Park, a stunning 32-acre space in Tooting, is part of the new Springfield Village - a community built around the transformation of Springfield University Hospital by an NHS trust. The park features: ✔️ A pavilion café ✔️ Amphitheatre ✔️ Fitness trail ✔️ Children’s play areas ✔️ Scenic ponds ✔️ 700 newly planted trees The park has been opening in phases since 2023 and is now fully complete. The official opening was marked by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, alongside Tooting MP Dr Rosena Allin-Khan, Wandsworth Council Leader Simon Hogg, and local residents. Artelia’s appointment was with STEP, a 50/50 partnership between Sir Robert McAlpine Capital Ventures Ltd and Kajima Partnerships who delivered the development on behalf of SWLSTG. Artelia provided Employer's Agent services for delivery of the park, public realm, district heating system, new roads and other primary infrastructure facilitating the creation of 839 new homes, community shops and café, a care home and land for development of a primary school. The park itself has created a network of green spaces, gardens, play areas and routes linking not just to the new health and residential developments, but also the surrounding areas of Tooting. WE'RE WALKING FOR CHARITY ON FRIDAY, JULY 18TH... This Friday, team members from our Ipswich and London offices will be lacing up their walking shoes for the annual DICE Charity Walk through the heart of London! The London office will be raising funds for Maggie's Centres, an incredible charity that provides free practical, emotional, and social support to people living with cancer, as well as their families and friends. We will be covering 14.6km, passing by several of our very own Artelia project sites along the way - a great chance to reflect on the work we do while supporting a truly meaningful cause. After a multimillion-pound investment and over two years of meticulous upgrades and conservation, The Maison Dieu (Dover Town Hall) has officially reopened its doors to the public - for the first time in its 800-year history, permanently and free to enter, seven days a week! Artelia UK was honoured to serve as Technical Project Manager for our esteemed client, Dover District Council, on this landmark heritage project. It’s been a privilege to help restore this incredible building to its former glory. Visitors can now explore the breathtaking interiors designed by William Burges, admire beautifully restored wall paintings and armoury, and experience the magic of stained glass windows as they shift with the light. This transformation marks a major milestone for Dover - enhancing its cultural offering and welcoming residents and tourists alike to experience one of its most historic gems. Shell Safety Day 2025 – How I Respond Matters This year’s Shell Safety Day wasn’t just a moment - it was a movement. From thought-provoking sessions on Human Performance Principles to powerful messages from our contractors and leadership teams, the theme “How I Respond Matters” inspired meaningful conversations across the Artelia-Shell Mobility Programme. Error is normal. Blame fixes nothing. Context drives behaviour. Learning is vital. How I respond matters. We’re proud to see these values take root - not just in presentations, but in everyday actions on our sites and in our teams. The interest and engagement was incredibly encouraging and a testament to the shared commitment we hold toward safety excellence. This is just the beginning. We had a fantastic time participating in this year’s JLL Property Triathlon! It was great to join our colleagues, reconnect with old friends, and enjoy a day of friendly competition. Artelia was proudly represented by 15 participants from our London and Ipswich (Castons) offices, taking part in a variety of events including the Male and Mixed Relay Triathlons, 2.2k swim, Duathlon, and Triathlon.
