🌟 Inspiring a new generation at Derby’s Dream Fest 🌟 Earlier this month our regional social impact team proudly supported Derby Dream Fest, a vibrant event at Derby’s Market Hall designed to inspire and empower the next generation. Through student performances, hands-on workshops and interactive activities the event helped young people to explore the future of work, build valuable skills and discover new possibilities. 🎉 A special shoutout to our very own SPOT the dog who made a great impression at the event sparking smiles, curiosity and conversations, and proving that sometimes the smallest moments make the biggest impact. Engaging with young people is a one of the key ways we’re delivering lasting social impact and helping to build the skills pipeline our industry needs for the future. #BalfourBeatty #BuildingNewFutures #SocialValue

  • Today, we launched an update of our Building New Futures Sustainability Strategy, building on the progress we’ve made to date, tackling new challenges and focusing our efforts to make an even bigger impact where it matters most.  🍃    As part of this, we’ve committed to new UK targets in two of our six focus areas – community engagement and nature positive, we’ve:    ⬆️ Increased our social value target and will aim to deliver £6 billion of social value in the UK by 2030  📚 Put in place a new UK social impact target dedicating a total of 60,000 hours to education engagement by 2030  🌳 Implemented measurable, annually evolving targets to halt nature loss by 2030, which align with the Nature Positive Pledge    With extreme weather events, risking sea levels, the competition for talent and pressures on raw materials increasingly impacting the global economy, regular updates ensure the company’s strategy remains ambitious, relevant, and aligned to the sustainability challenges and opportunities ahead.     This is about turning words into action and taking responsibility for safeguarding the natural resources and communities we depend on. Every action counts.     Read the full strategy here: https://lnkd.in/epqQqZQ8   #Sustainability #BuildingNewFutures #SocialValue
