👨🎓 Celebrating our commercial graduates!   Congratulations to our award-winning Trainee Quantity Surveyors Joe Hinchliffe and Gerard McCoy, who both graduated this month with honours!   🏆 There's been plenty to celebrate for Joe and Gerard, who also received the Emerging Professional of the Year awards in the Commended category at the recent annual CIHT North West Awards Evening. ⛳ In support of The Lighthouse Charity and The Christie Charity , Bethell were pleased to participate in DCS Recruitment’s inaugural Charity Golf Day. Held at The Mere Golf Resort & Spa, the event was superbly organised, and the fantastic weather was certainly a bonus! 🤝 So far, the event has raised £8,000, which will be split between the two nominated charities. 👋 Welcoming our first T Level cohort from Wigan & Leigh College and University Centre! Bethell was joined by four T Level students from Wigan & Leigh, who will experience an insightful and varied 9-week work experience placement, rotating between different departments and learning about the wide range of roles involved in a construction project. 🗓️ Our T Level students have visited sites, been hands-on in the procurement department, assisted the health & safety team and much more! We also welcomed Sam, the latest of our cohort of T Level students from Runshaw College, who Bethell is pleased to expand our working partnership with. ⭐ During their work experience, students will apply their theoretical learning to real-life situations, preparing them for a future career in construction. 📍 Creating vibrant public realm in Central Manchester! On behalf of client Allied London, Bethell delivered all Section 278 works for Phase 2 of the prestigious St. John’s development in Manchester. 👷 This included drainage, ducting, surfacing, kerbing and pedestrian walkways across Water Street, New Quay Street and Good Yards Street. St. John's is located on the former Granada TV Studios site and is now a new mixed-use neighbourhood to live, work and be entertained. 🚰 Delivering improvements to your wastewater network!   Bethell has installed and commissioned two new sludge tanks (each holding 500m3 of sludge) and an odour control unit (OCU) as part of the new Sludge Transfer Facility at Dukinfield WwTW, on behalf of client United Utilities.   ⭐ Now that the sludge tanks are operational and receiving sludge, we will begin the process testing phase for the OCU whilst other decommissioning and final finishing works are ongoing.   Once process testing is complete, our Bethell Capital Delivery team, in collaboration with Eric Wright Group, are working towards achieving a full ATO (Agreement to Operate), then completion testing, and finally client handover.   💬 Alison Owen, Framework Director: "This package of works has been exceptionally well planned and executed in the face of the challenges that come with working on a live plant in particular the complexity of swapping out an existing Motor Control Centre (MCC) controlling existing operational plant to a new one that controls the new plant and any retained existing plant.” #wastewater #infrastructure #civilengineering #lifeatbethell
