Experience the brand-new Long Stratton Bypass before it opens to traffic! 🛣️ 🚗 As part of our commitment to leaving a sustainable and lasting legacy in the communities we work in, we’re proud to be hosting a Community Day this Saturday, 2 August, for the people of Norfolk — in collaboration with our partners in the Long Stratton Enterprise Partnership, which we’ve proudly defined and led alongside local businesses and Norfolk County Council.   The bypass will facilitate the creation of 1,800 new properties in the area, delivered by Norfolk homes and is also an excellent opportunity to attract new businesses to this rural South Norfolk commuter town, just 20 minutes south of Norwich and just 1 hour 30 from London by train, from nearby Diss.   People will have the opportunity to run, walk or cycle on the newly constructed route before it opens for traffic, enjoy a variety of stalls and further opportunities for residents and business owners to learn more about the future of the town. A major milestone for the Okehampton Interchange Project 📢 Thrilled to share the progress made over the past six months on the new Okehampton Interchange for Network Rail Wales & Western region🚆 Just two minutes from the A30, the new station will complement the existing Okehampton station and serve the growing east side of the town. It also supports the ongoing revitalisation of the Dartmoor Line, following its reopening in 2021. Set to open in 2026, Okehampton Interchange will be the newest addition to the line—connecting West Devon, Torridge and North Cornwall with Exeter and beyond. Future proofing Lymington Viaduct originally built in 1880! In June, our rail team successfully completed strengthening and renewal works along the 67-metre-long Lymington Viaduct, for Network Rail Southern Region as part of the Southern Renewals Enterprise. Including painting and steelwork repairs. The works began during two key line closures — in October and over a 14 day blockade over Christmas 2024. This complex project involved months of planning and collaboration with our customer and partners. The vital upgrades will ensure this historic structure can continue serving the Lymington community and ferry passengers travelling to and from the Isle of Wight for many years to come. We’re thrilled to share that Octavius Regional Civil Engineering – our self-delivery business - has secured a spot on Bristol City Council's Highways Asset Management and Civils Framework 2025-2029! 🚧 Octavius Regional Civil Engineering, has been awarded Lot 6: Highway Civil Engineering works over £500,000 and other Specialist Highway Engineering works. Chris Ellis Delivery Director, Octavius Regional Civil Engineering said “Our new framework with Bristol City Council further demonstrates our commitment to communities in the west, through the maintenance and development of the region’s road and public realm infrastructure. At Octavius, we’re proud to be leading the transformational roof revitalisation project that will help preserve and futureproof this historic station.
