  • 🌿 Mindful Gardeners – where mental health meets sustainability 🌍 We recently teamed up with The Lucy Rayner Foundation to run a 4-week pilot at Earlswood Junior School, helping Year 6 students manage stress and anxiety by connecting with nature. Students had the chance to fill planters using crates provided by our Kensington and Chelsea municipal team, make use of compost donated by our green waste partners Envar Composting Limited , and plant a beautiful sensory garden using borders from Garden on a Roll, complete with bird feeders! By the end, students felt calmer and more confident in caring for the planet – and we are now expanding Mindful Gardeners to six more schools next academic year! A big thank you to everyone involved 💚 Find out more 👇 #Education #MentalHealth #Sustainability #SocialValue

  • 🌊 Give your wetsuit a second wave of purpose! Cornwall’s recycling centres accept old, damaged or unwanted wetsuits. Each donation helps fund the Wave Project’s surf therapy sessions for young people ♻️💙

  • 🔋 Batteries don’t belong in the bin. Improper disposal can cause batteries to be crushed or damaged during waste processing, posing a serious fire risk in collection vehicles and recycling facilities. And it’s not just loose batteries that causes issues - many everyday items contain hidden batteries, including: ▶️ Laptops and mobiles ▶️ Vapes ▶️ Electric toothbrushes ▶️ Toys ▶️ Remote controls Learn how to recycle all batteries responsibly - including the hidden ones - in our battery recycling guide. • We are excited to announce that planning permission has been granted for the restoration of Clockhouse Quarry in Capel, Surrey. This project will transform the existing worked-out quarry into a sustainable landform that blends naturally into the surrounding landscape. It will also deliver real benefits for local biodiversity – creating new wetland habitats to support protected species like the great crested newt. Key benefits include: ✅ Creation of wetlands to support native wildlife ✅ Use of inert materials from local construction projects to restore the site sustainably ✅ A long-term boost to biodiversity and landscape quality in the Surrey countryside   Over the coming months, we’re looking forward to preparing the site for the restoration activity due to commence later in 2026. • We were delighted to host a golf day with Blind Veterans UK. Our colleagues and members of our Veterans Network took part in a friendly competition on the course. Players wore Sim Specs, where they experienced various visual impairments, gaining valuable perspective on the challenges of sight loss. It was a day filled with connection and admiration for the resilience shown by the blind veterans. Highlights from the event below 👇

We spent the day on the golf course with SUEZ UK and a group of blind veterans - and it didn't take long for everyone to get stuck in with some friendly competition. Colleagues from SUEZ tried on Sim Specs, which demonstrate different visual impairments, to get a sense of what it's like to play with sight loss. But they quickly found out, they didn't need them to appreciate just how skilled our veterans are. A big thank you to the team for organising such a fantastic day. Watch to see how they got on. [Video description: CEO of SUEZ UK John Scanlon, and blind veteran Kevin, speak about the day. Footage shows them and others playing golf. Some participants are seen wearing sight loss simulation glasses. The atmosphere is relaxed and upbeat throughout.]

We were delighted to return to the Shepperton Fair this year - this time as platinum sponsors! The fair is always a highlight in the calendar for many of our SUEZ Surrey team. It was a great opportunity to engage directly with residents about the work we do locally on behalf of Surrey County Council - from generating electricity at the Eco Park, to giving donated items a second life through our Revive reuse shops. 🌎 Visitors to our stall also entered a raffle to win refurbished bikes through our rehabilitation partnership with HMP Ford, with all proceeds going to our charity partners, Macmillan Cancer Support and British Heart Foundation. We also participated the raft race, we may not have crossed the finish line first, but we brought plenty of energy and team spirit to the water! A big thank you to the event organisers – we’re already looking forward to the next one. 💚 Find out more 👇 #Community #SocialValue #Reuse
