We were thrilled to welcome the amazing Hywel & Nesta Jones to our charity office yesterday as they graciously handed over an incredible donation of £10,100 to us, raised through their recent fundraising efforts within their community! 👏 The pair chose to support The Walton Centre Charity after both Hywel and their daughter were cared for here at The Walton Centre. Another valuable course run by the neurosurgery department in Liverpool,UK with Edge Hill University. Congratulations to the organisers below. Talking about spine and cranial complications and management with human factors/ moulages. I wish I had this as a trainee! I had the privilege to talk about spine complications and management. The more honest and open we are about the complications we have faced as surgeons the safer our trainees and colleagues can be. If you missed out this year keep an eye out for it next year! Better to learn it here than manage it for the first time overnight on call! Amazing to be involved in shaping the neurosurgeons of the future!
Last week, we welcomed trainee #neurosurgeons from across the UK to Edge Hill University for a dynamic, hands-on CPD course: Prevention of Neurosurgical Complications. Developed by leading consultants from The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust and Charity and delivered in partnership with Knowledge Exchange at Edge Hill University, the intensive two-and-a-half-day course focused on building practical #skills and #clinical #confidence. Through realistic #moulage scenarios, staged in our Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre, trainees were able to safely explore and manage complex #neurosurgical complications, enhancing their learning, decision-making, and preparedness for real-world challenges.
