We are in the process of creating electric vehicle chargepoints at some of our car parks. This involves temporary leasing of the land to enable a contractor to instal the points. A link to the car parks where this is happening can be found below: https://lnkd.in/ehWKrQWV

At Cheshire East Council, we are committed to providing high quality services that we know our customers expect.
About us
Cheshire East Council is a unitary authority area, established in April 2009 under the local Government reorganisation. We provide hundreds of local services across Cheshire East to our 376,700 residents and 20,200 businesses. An ambitious council, we’re working hard to maximise the benefits of our strategic location between the Northern Powerhouse and the Midlands Engine and our proximity to Merseyside and Wales. We want to ensure Cheshire East is an area of choice to start, grow or locate a business and that we celebrate the diverse and distinctive places and communities in our borough, while working with our residents to help them achieve their aspirations. By 2020, our ambition is that our visitor economy will be worth £1bn. We currently welcome around 16 million visitors a year – generating £895m. Great to meet with partners yesterday at Crewe Station. We’ve identified how best to move our Crewe360 vision forward. This will be the most ambitious plan for place and for Crewe in a generation. Next, we will work to agree the wider regeneration area and underpin this with a charter. Network Rail West Coast Partnership Development

"With an elected mayor, we gain a strong voice and clear leadership. It’s a chance to champion our area on the national stage and ensure Cheshire and Warrington gets the support and investment it deserves.” Read a Q&A with Cheshire College South and West Principal and Chief Executive Officer, Jasbir Dhesi OBE, as he shares his thoughts on what devolution can mean for our area. https://lnkd.in/eVjJKQNk #devolution

Flooding risk reduced on key airport route 🚗 We’ve completed a major upgrade to the pumping station on the A555 near Manchester Airport – doubling its capacity to help prevent flooding and keep the road open during heavy rain. The A555 is a vital link between Stockport, the airport and surrounding areas. This investment means the road is now better protected against severe weather, helping to reduce disruption for drivers. https://lnkd.in/e7hSVNav #CheshireEast #FloodPrevention #A555 #ManchesterAirport #Highways

We’re proud to celebrate the opening of Quodria’s brand-new laboratory and office space in Cheshire East — a major milestone for innovation in our region. With fully equipped labs now operational, Quodria is accelerating the development of Q001, a promising new treatment for atopic dermatitis. This is a huge step forward in bringing cutting-edge science to life. 👏 We’re pleased to have supported this journey through our Economic Development Team and access to the UK Shared Prosperity Funded Life Sciences Accelerator Programme delivered at Alderley Park — helping businesses like Quodria to grow, innovate, and thrive. #CheshireEast #Quodria #Innovation #UKSPF #EconomicGrowth #BusinessSupport #LifeSciences
Quodria formally opens its labs and offices at Alderley Park Last Friday marked a major milestone for us as Peter Skates, Director of Growth and Enterprise for Cheshire East Council, cut the ribbon to formally open our new laboratory at Alderley Park. Peter was accompanied by Debra Foxley-Smith, Business & Growth Manager for Cheshire East Council and so it is a huge thankyou from us for taking time to help us mark the start of our new biotech adventure. The Quodria team was joined by a number of guests for the opening, many of whom have helped us get up and running. So thanks to, amongst others, Kath Mackay, Andy Roberts, Gareth Hampton and Andy Round for joining Sinead Sunner, Julie Cook, Mark Hollingworth, John Ridden and myself at the opening. Following on from the success of the Bruntwood SciTech Accelerator Programme we're now established at Alderley Park, with fully equipped labs meaning that we can focus on pushing on with the development of Q001, our exciting new treatment for atopic dermatitis. Finally, as we mark the formal beginning to our R&D efforts, we'd like to say a massive thanks for all of the support and help we've had from so many people over the last 18 months. We couldn't have got here without your help. Exciting times ahead!

Heard this one before? 🤔 Let's clear that one up... ✅The whole point of devolution is unlocking long-term funding. That’s how we plan properly - and avoid lurching from one short-term fix to another. #Devolution
