As well as teaching more than 100,000 students, our five universities play a vital role in everyday life in Greater Manchester - by encouraging innovation, supporting business growth, and helping people develop new skills. The scale of this impact has been outlined in a new report, published today by Greater Manchester Universities. In 2021, the city region’s five universities joined forces with the GMCA to launch the Greater Manchester Civic University Agreement, with the aim of improving the lives of people across Greater Manchester by aligning the strengths of our universities with the priorities and voices of local people. The 2025 Civic University Agreement Annual Report highlights how our universities, in collaboration with the GMCA, are helping to tackle some of the biggest challenges we face.
