  • As talks of heading #backtoschool ramp up, we're excited to launch our Back to Campus campaign this week, highlighting the gear that will be by students sides from 8 am classes to late night study sessions. 📓 ✏️ For #inspiration on this campaign, we naturally looked to #community and where this takes shape--the quad. During the school year it's where they gather with friends, study for their next test, and spend time outside. We wanted to tap into this and bring out the essence of what really connects us. Want to explore more? Check out our Back to Campus collection, and we'll meet you on the quad. 🏫 https://lnkd.in/gHb2ZQan #GearforGood #school #campus #backtocampus #education #campaign

  • This week, we’re spotlighting a powerful story of youth-led change in the community of Loreto, Ecuador, and the #impact of our incredible partners at The Chain Collaborative. TCC’s mission is simple and bold. With their Community Led Development (CLD) Incubator program they aim to:  🌱 #Invest in local leaders.  💪 #Support community-led change.  🌍 #Transform the coffee sector from within. One of those leaders is Andrea Lopez, co-founder of Asoamazonas, a youth-led farming and education initiative born in response to violence, out-migration, and lack of opportunity in her community. Here’s what their impact looked like with support from TCC’s CLD Incubator 👇 🌾 For Local Farmers:  ▪️ 15 families trained in climate-smart coffee & cocoa farming  ▪️ 4 farms achieved organic certification  ▪️ Yields increased +20% vs. the previous year  ▪️ 20+ families received critical inputs for their farms 📖 For Local Youth: Built a world class library and community center 17 children joined an after-school reading club Significantly boosted reading, listening & public speaking skills Hosted a youth coffee-brewing workshop   🙌 Beyond the Numbers:  Andrea and her co-founder Fabio say the program sparked new leadership, motivation, and pride in their community. And today, Asoamazonas is part of TCC’s Alumni Network — a growing circle of grassroots changemakers across Latin America and East Africa. “We now see more leadership, motivation, and responsibility from other community leaders. You see a different spirit in them.”  – Andrea Lopez, Asoamazonas 📖 Explore more partner stories in the Cotopaxi Foundation 2024 Annual Report: https://lnkd.in/gBG7QcvX  #MissionMonday #DoGood #GearForGood #CotopaxiFoundation #CoffeeForChange #YouthLeadership #CommunityPower #TCC #Asoamazonas

  • As part of our path to Net Zero, we are working with Global Efficiency Intelligence (GEI), a leading industrial #decarbonization research and consulting firm. 🪡 The Background: The #textile and #apparel industry is a significant contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions and global waste and water use. The industry continues to rely on fossil fuels for heating processes, which contributes to substantial carbon dioxide emissions. 🌎 What we’re doing about it: Cotopaxi, along with several like-minded brands, is working with Global Efficiency Intelligence to work with shared suppliers to help them transition to clean heat alternatives that do not use fossil fuels. By helping our manufacturing partners transition to electric heating technologies, such as Electric Steam Boilers or Industrial Heat Pumps, we will protect both the planet and workers, demonstrated in the charts within this post. Chart 1: You can see the comparison of electric steam boilers to coal and natural gas boilers, along with the potential benefits of moving away from fossil fuel technologies. Chart 2: Showcasing the comparison of heat pumps for a typical textile plant in all countries relative to coal and natural gas boilers. You can see how a transition to electric pumps will help reduce emissions across our sector. By using electric alternatives for heating we 🏭 Reduce emissions 🧵 Protect workers 🌐 Improve efficiency 🌿 Minimize extraction In working towards this transition, Cotopaxi hopes to meet its Net Zero goals while delivering on a just climate transition that also works to combat poverty, and look forward to partners like Global Efficiency Intelligence and Ali Hasanbeigi on this journey. Thanks for being a part of our sustainability journey, and check out GEI's Low Carbon Thermal Energy Roadmap for Textile Industry here: https://lnkd.in/gp-Cnq6N #impact #DoGood #sustainability #carbonemissions #netzero #heatingtechnologies #globalwaste #greenhousegasemissions

Meet Cristobal, a 10-year-old boy from rural Guatemala whose life changed dramatically after a bone cancer diagnosis and amputation. Without access to prosthetic care, his independence, education and future were at risk. That’s where ROMP stepped in. Here’s how they helped 👇 🩺 The Challenge:  ▪️ Underwent an amputation in 2022 during cancer treatment  ▪️ Was physically and emotionally depleted while still undergoing chemotherapy  ▪️ Lacked access to a prosthetic limb and ongoing care 🛠️ The Approach:  ▪️ Joined ROMP’s Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Program  ▪️ Paired with a trained ROMP “Mobilizer” for regular in-home visits  ▪️ Received consistent physical and emotional support to prepare for a prosthesis 🦿 The Impact:  ▪️ Fitted with a personalized prosthetic in November 2023  ▪️ Regained his mobility, resumed his education and is making daily progress  ▪️ Now dreams of becoming a physician to help others 💛 “Cristobal is one of hundreds of patients in Guatemala who’ve gained not just mobility—but hope and purpose—through ROMP’s holistic care.” Disocver other stories of impact in our 2024 Foundation Annual Report: https://lnkd.in/gBG7QcvX  #MissionMonday #CotopaxiFoundation #ROMP #MobilityIsFreedom #HealthEquity #GearForGood #DoGood #Impact

🧡 Esmeralda’s Story 🧡 This week, we’re highlighting an inspiring story from our 2024 Cotopaxi Foundation Annual Report, and an example of the transformational work of our partner New Story. “I wish more people like me had financial education... It’s more possible than people think.” Meet Esmeralda, a single mom and entrepreneur in Etzatlán, Mexico, who spent years dreaming of a stable home for her and her son. Through New Story’s innovative, people-first approach to #housing, that dream is now becoming a reality. Here’s how. The Challenge: 🚧 Years of housing instability 🚧 Traditional financing was out of reach 🚧 Her goal: a home she could build, own, and pass down The Breakthrough: ➡️ Joined New Story’s program in 2022 ➡️ Built credit and made manageable payments toward land ownership ➡️ Gained financial transparency and support from local partners  The Impact:  🏠 As of April 2024, Esmeralda officially owns her land  🏠 Now designing her home + planning a space for her small business  🏠 Creating generational opportunity for her son “I hope home is a place where my son can learn from me, and I can learn from him. A place for us to feel safe.” Read more about Esmeralda and her journey here: https://lnkd.in/gJRa-hyT Check out other stories of #impact in our 2024 Annual Report: https://lnkd.in/gsqDUkk7  #MissionMonday #CotopaxiFoundation #NewStory #HousingIsImpact #DoGood #GearForGood

Introducing: Our 10-year Materials & Product Sustainability Roadmap 🪡 🌎 In 2024, after realizing our prior goal of ensuring every product has at least one strong #sustainability feature, Cotopaxi launched our new Sustainable Product & Materials Roadmap, a 10-year framework that will guide the material decisions we make—from the #fabrics in our packs to the #packaging that delivers them. This roadmap creates a phased, tiered system for how we evaluate materials (Preferred, Accepted, Phasing Out), introduces circularity and packaging criteria for the first time, and leaves room to evolve as material science and supply chains do. It’s designed to help us evolve our product impact in an intentional and ambitious way, prioritizing low-impact, #ethically sourced inputs while making clear what we plan to phase out and why. The roadmap also supports our longer-term goal of closing Cotopaxi’s own resource loops through investments in upcycling, take-back, and circular operations. We’re focused on constantly improving our product sustainability and using the latest technologies to minimize our impact on the planet. We are now transitioning to a future state where all of our fabrics and trims protect people and planet and have features such as 🌿 Clean chemistry  🌿 Fair Trade certifications 🌿 Remnant, Recycled, and Upcycled components 🌿 Green certifications  🌿 Bio-based inputs 🌿 Regenerative potential We are continuing to fight to decouple our business from fossil fuels and all virgin plastic inputs. Learn more about our Product + Material Sustainability Roadmap here: https://lnkd.in/gvCasWqu #impact #sustainability #manufacturing #materials #product #dogood #cotopaxi #recycle #green #environment #fairtrade #roadmap

A great mention from our CEO Lindsay Shumlas about our employee “life hikes”. Shared hared regularly amongst our herd, these virtual hikes allow our herd to gain a deeper understanding of their fellow teammates and their own stories.💡🦙 #team #collaboration #innovation #growth #teamwork #cotopaxi #dogood

One of my favorite Cotopaxi traditions is the “life hike”. Started by our founders Davis Smith and Stephan Jacob , it was a way for employees to connect on a deeper level by sharing their “lifelines” while getting outside and stepping away from the screen. Today we continue this tradition as a monthly virtual hike with the original spirit of reflection and connection. Today we heard from Marissa Magno, Cotopaxi’s VP of People & Inclusion. Thank you Marissa for sharing your story 🧡 Sharing your life story with colleagues is a powerful way to build trust, foster connection and create a more authentic workplace. It also reinforces that diverse backgrounds and journeys are not just welcome but they are essential to how we collaborate, innovate and grow together.
