Celebrating Fundraising Champions at Accenture UK & Ireland 🌟 We’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on the incredible team at Accenture. They recently completed a 4.5 mile walk from their head office to Hyde Park. This was a symbolic distance, representing the 4.5 million children living in poverty in the UK. Their journey ended with a joyful picnic and games. They raised £300 to support vulnerable children and we are so grateful. "It was not only a fun and rewarding day outside the office, but also a meaningful way to come together, raise awareness, and support the vital work this charity does for children across the UK. Moments like these remind us of the power of community and the impact we can make together." - Shahad Al Rubaye, Management Consultant A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved. Including Paul Edwards, Managing Director, for nominating us as their charity partner. Another big thanks to Ellie Anderson and Shahad Al Rubaye for their outstanding event planning and coordination ❤️ 👏 Let’s give them the recognition they deserve — drop your congratulations in the comments below! #Fundraising #ActionForChildren #SocialImpact

Throwback Thursday 🤩 We celebrated several Pride events across Wales and Northern Ireland. Staff, volunteers and young people joined marches and events in Cardiff and Prestatyn. Our Flintshire Family Support and Side Step teams also took part in Flintshire Schools Pride event at Hawarden High School. We were also delighted to take part in Belfast Pride. Laurie Ryall, Director for Action for Children in Wales, said: "Pride is a celebration and also a powerful statement that LGBTQ+ children and young people are not alone. Our participation is part of our year-round commitment to helping all young people feel valued, respected and safe to be themselves." Our message is simple: ALL children deserve safe and happy childhoods 🌈 #Pride #ThrowbackThursday #ActionForChildren

Celebrating Shaun – A Young Shining Star 🌟 Having grown up in foster care, Shaun faced many challenges, including isolation and instability. But with support from Action for Children’s Amaryllis Housing service, he found a safe space to rebuild his confidence and develop essential life skills like budgeting. “I can see how far I have come. In just a few years I am now more talkative, I socialise with people, and I’m looking forward to the future. I am proud of myself for that.” Shaun is now a valued member of the Amaryllis community. He was recently nominated for Action for Children’s Stephenson’s Young Shining Star award – a testament to his strength, kindness, and personal growth. Drop a ❤️ in the comments to celebrate his journey and help us congratulate Shaun! #ActionForChildren #FosterCare

We’re delighted to be named in The Sunday Times Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers, ranking 37th 🎉 This is a fantastic achievement and testament to the strength, impact, and innovation of our apprenticeship and qualifications offer. We’re especially proud to be the only charity featured in this year’s Top 100 leaderboard. This is a true reflection of our commitment to learning, development, and social impact. This recognition builds on a series of accolades we’ve received in recent years, including: A High Commendation for the Social Justice Award for our Care Experienced Apprenticeship Programme. The Paragon Skills Apprenticeship Employer of the Year Award. We offer a wide range of apprenticeships from Level 2 through to Level 7, covering a breadth of subjects. While many of our programmes support the achievement of regulatory qualifications in our frontline services, we also offer apprenticeships in areas such as HR, data analysis, social work, fundraising, and finance. This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment, not just for the children and families we support, but for our incredible teams across the UK ❤️ Thinking of joining us? We're always looking for talented people. To search for roles, please visit: https://bit.ly/3Ur7gXh #Apprenticeships #SundayTimes #ActionForChildren

Wendy has dedicated 21 years to supporting children and families. She now leads as a Children’s Services Manager. We asked Wendy to reflect on her journey: 💬 What’s your favourite part of the role? "I love to hear how the children and parents are getting on, how they have grown and developed with our support." 💬 A stand-out moment from your career? "I’m grateful for all the friendships I’ve made, but most of all, I absolutely love what I do and appreciate the journey it took to get me here." 💬 Your hopes for the next 21 years? "That the government keeps investing in Early Intervention and Children’s Services in general." Wendy’s passion and commitment are a true reflection of what Action for Children stands for.
