After four years of consultation, collaboration and conversations with local communities and stakeholders, we’re proud to announce the submission of the Hybrid Planning Applications to reinstate Earls Court as a global destination for wonder. Our 44 acre masterplan will come alive with music, arts and entertainment. As central London’s largest cleared development opportunity, this is more than just a construction project—it is the reimagining of an iconic part of London into a dynamic, inclusive, and sustainable neighbourhood designed for all stages of life. Earls Court will be a better piece of City, providing a blueprint for future generations as a model for how London can evolve to meet the needs of its residents and address the environmental and societal challenges of the future. With nature as the golden thread, the long empty site will be transformed as a new neighbourhood with c.4,000 new homes and 12,000 jobs set within 20 acres of new public open and green space. It will reflect its legacy as a hub of innovation and entertainment, be a showcase for clean and climate tech with 2.5 million sq ft of workspace and create a new cultural ecosystem for London with three new anchor venues. The development will be served by a next generation net zero carbon energy network and a net zero operational carbon target setting new standards for sustainable development. The vision for Earls Court, as a place to discover wonder, is guided by four place pillars that underpin everything we do: - A celebration of nature and its ability to connect and revive - A showcase for climate and clean innovation - A cultural ecosystem for future talent - An inspiring neighbourhood designed for all stages of life Head to our website to see our plans: www.earlscourt.com Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eQXb6SRc #earlscourt #discoverwonder

What are the key considerations when designing tall buildings? How do we balance the ambitions to create a landmark addition to the skyline, with the more immediate community needs of its neighbours? These were just some of the themes discussed last week at a panel hosted by Sheppard Robson, the architects behind our tallest building in the plans for Earls Court. It was a thought-provoking discussion between Sharon Giffen, Colin Wilson, Jonathan Smith and Anna Shapiro, expertly chaired by Dezeen's Amy Frearson, as the conversation ranged from talking about designing 'beautiful' buildings - and how could you incorporate community opinions on what beauty means to them - to when and how much of a building should be permeable, and when is it ok not to be. One lasting point to ponder on is the concept of innovation equalling simplicity. Being innovative shouldn't overcomplicate processes. The key to being truly innovative is developing a sophisticated simplicity that others can follow. Thank you Peter Dye and the team at Sheppard Robson for hosting us. I'm delighted to see my short 'coffee break' piece in NLQ magazine this quarter. I talk about my career and the work we are currently doing with The Earls Court Development Company and also with Van Leer Foundation. Turning to the next page a really clearly written piece about the tube network and how to navigate it from the writer's perspective, Christy Vanek, who has a visual impairment. It's such a clear story, and is very similar to the work we do at Earls Court. We look at how to navigate the local area, with think about safety and how the new development will look and feel for visitors when it is finished. I'm going to cut out and keep for our next session! Promoting the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham and its credentials in the climate tech space in NYC yesterday. London & Partners joined forces with Council Leader Stephen Cowan 🇬🇧🇺🇦 and Rob Heasman from the The Earls Court Development Company for a series of events and visits in the Big Apple to promote the borough as a destination for international investment. Here's some reasons why climate innovators should look at H&F: - Strong Innovation Ecosystem. Including the White City Innovation District, a world class hub for science, tech, and entrepreneurship, access to Imperial College London, the fintech accelerator at Fulham Football Club, sustainability dynamism at London GreenCity, and the brownfield opportunities at Earls Court. - Supportive local governance at the city and borough level and a commitment to becoming NetZero by 2030 creating demand and incentives for climate solutions. - Strategic location and infrastructure. Multiple Underground lines, cycle lanes, easy access to Heathrow as well as high quality office and lab space. Grace Farnham, Michelle Brechtelsbauer, Rebecca.
