🚧 Bridge Lift Milestone Moment at Meridian Water! 🚧 On 3rd of July, the Meridian Water project successfully installed their first bridge beam on Bridge B4, a key part of the Strategic Infrastructure Works (SIW) led by Enfield Council. This marks the first of four planned bridge lifts and lays the foundation for future development across the site. The beams were supplied by Shay Murtagh Precast Ltd. and installed by Oliver Connell and Son Ltd, with Taylor Woodrow overseeing the operation. 🎥 The lift was captured by Periscope and local filmmaker Gio from Out the Box Productions, showcasing the incredible teamwork behind the scenes. Featured in the video are: · Simon Milligan, Project Director · Pooja Godhania, Project Manager · Arthur Hunt, Site Engineer · Barry O’Sullivan, Construction Manager (Oliver Connell and Son Ltd) A huge thank you to all involved. A busy time on Northumberland Street 💚 If you’ve been into the city centre recently, you won’t have missed all the work on Northumberland Street. It’s a busy time, but this means exciting developments are happening. 🚧 🌳 🧱✨ We’re proud to be working with Byker based art and architectural production company, Raskl, who are expertly crafting all the new street furniture – from the seating to planters and rain gardens. By keeping it local, this is also supporting the city’s economy. You’ll see from the photos, we’re not talking mass production - it’s bespoke, sustainable, durable and beautiful, befitting the city’s main high street. In the coming weeks, the first rain garden and seating will open at the Haymarket end of the street, and this area will also be planted🌱 🌿. And work has now started on the central section, further down. Tree pits are being excavated and prepared for planting, and the first sections of new paving are being laid. These tree pits will eventually house more rain gardens, which are specially designed green spaces that help manage storm water and add greenery to the urban landscape. 🌳 All these improvement works are due to complete in early 2026, and we can’t wait to see the finished result. @raskl-limited Taylor Woodrow

A major step forward at Meridian Water! 🏗️ The removal of Salmon’s Bridge marks a significant milestone in the delivery of core infrastructure at Meridian Water. Last week, a 750-tonne crane was brought on site to extract and remove a 54-tonne bridge. This enables the construction of Bridge B4, a key crossing that will carry vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians as part of a more connected street network. This work is part of our Strategic Infrastructure Works, which is delivering new roads, bridges and public spaces, and helping to unlock the site for thousands of new homes and jobs. EcoPark House at the Edmonton EcoPark North London Heat and Power Project is officially open - a new education outreach and visitors centre for the North London Waste Authority. The third element of the masterplan to be complete following the opening of the Re-use and Recycling Centre (RRC) and the Recycling and Fuel Preparation Facility (RFPF), the site currently processes waste and recycling for over two million residents from seven north London boroughs. “EcoPark House symbolises a new chapter in how we view waste infrastructure, as a space for learning, interaction, and environmental leadership, critical to the reshaping of how we understand our need to manage waste.” Kirsten Lees Designed by Grimshaw, with WSP and delivered through a design and build contract with Taylor Woodrow, Race Cottam Associates and Waterman Group, the pavilion style two storey building, draws inspiration from the traditional boat houses, reflecting its canalside setting and maritime use. The Sea Cadets occupy the training spaces at ground level, directly linking to the River Lee Navigation with a waterfront slipway, and the upper level offers community, visitor and educational facilities. The design of the building is functional and environmentally responsive: here, groups will learn about the impact we have on reducing waste streams, and ways to be part of emerging circular economies, all within a building that operates entirely off-grid. 🚧 Innovating Safer, Smarter Construction in Newcastle 🤖 We’re proud to be collaborating with Baubot, a global leader in construction robotics, on a cutting-edge trial on Northumberland Street with our Civils North team. The project focuses on a particularly complex challenge - the safe removal of electrical cables encased in concrete. To address this, we are trialling Baubot’s advanced mobile robotic system, which is capable of drilling large-diameter, deep, angled holes in a precise pattern. This method is designed to facilitate the controlled breakout of concrete slabs which enhances safety, reduces manual risk, and lowers the environmental impact compared to traditional techniques. This partnership reflects our commitment to embracing innovation and delivering smarter, more sustainable infrastructure solutions. Stay tuned for our upcoming feature with New Civil Engineer, where we’ll share more insights on the successful trial run! #ConstructionTechnology #EngineeringInnovation #RoboticsInConstruction #Newcastle #NorthumberlandStreet
