Fantastic to host a roundtable today with the Independent Transport Commission! Bringing together leading voices from government, academia, and industry to discuss the future of transport project appraisal. We explored how the appraisal process could better reflect the real needs of people and places, building on the recent Green Book Review. This discussion builds on our Northern Appraisal Playbook, released earlier this year. The playbook offers guidance to our Northern partners on how to apply the flexibilities of the Green Book and Transport Analysis Guidance. https://lnkd.in/etaVS9Gu

Eleven new subsidised bus services across Westmorland and Furness have now been operating since Spring, and the summer holidays mean more people can get about to more places without having to use a car. Amongst the new routes is the 105 linking Greystoke and Penrith. Why not use it to visit Greystoke Castle, the village's open air heated swimming pool and other attractions in the village? #CommunityPower
