The Carbon Committee Steering Group have launched a range of initiatives to focus on immediately and we work with our team and supply chain to continually review and implement new initiatives on our drive to reduce carbon. Last Friday, together with Morse Webb Architects, we held our annual cycling adventure 🚴 Tour de Berkshire 🚴♂️ It was great to bring together the people we work closely with: Aero Property Consultants, Andrew Waring Associates, Calcinotto, Darke & Taylor Ltd,  Foot Anstey, Gleeds, HDC Construction Solutions , Lamb Brooks Solicitors, Lichfields UK, MEA (Michael Edwards Consultants Ltd), Ridge and Partners LLP, Stride Treglown, Scott White and Hookins, The Escape, Ubu Design Ltd.   2️⃣ RIDE ROUTES The weather was spectacular, just perfect to enjoy the breathtaking ride routes ranging in distance and difficulty, each featuring some of the best of the Berkshire countryside. After a briefing, the cyclists were ready to go!   🕶️ ALMOST EASY BREEZY, ZERO COMPETITION No timing or trophies, just our annual physical challenge, with the goal of riding the bikes with our peers. Our team was on a stand-by to fully support the cyclist and ready to help at every stage.   🍕 TIME Following the time in saddle and some strenuous hill climbs, our day was made complete with drinks and pizza served by Renegade Brewery. 🙌 PROJECT NEWS 🙌 Working for SEGRO plc, we have delivered nine new speculatively-built industrial units at Slough Trading Estate, providing highly sustainable space to meet demand from a diverse range of businesses. The redevelopment scheme at 136 Edinburgh Avenue has transformed the former single-building into over 107,000 sq ft of high-quality warehouse space, reflecting high demand and limited supply of highly sustainable industrial space in the Thames Valley. All units boast excellent sustainability credentials, achieving #BREEAM #Excellent and EPC A+ ratings. Features include air source heat pumps, smart building sensors and controls and over 21,000 sq ft of PV panels generating energy savings of over 350 kWh/Yr and carbon savings of over 42,000 Kg/Co2/Yr. In addition, 20% of parking spaces are equipped with EV charging points and the development offers ample secure bike storage with electric bike chargers to encourage active travel. Last week we had a pleasure of participating in Ethical Reading’s 2025 Ethics for Schools Fair at Leighton Park School. Together with representatives from NatWest, Blandy & Blandy Solicitors, PageGroup, Thames Valley Police and Grant Thornton we were talking with students from six local secondary schools about ethics in business.
