London Stansted Airport was proud to be part of the Government's Task and Finish Group that worked towards these important recommendations. We welcome any moves that help to make air travel easier and more accessible for disabled people. We were pleased to help shape these improvements, sharing best practice from our assisted travel service which provides one-to-one support for hundreds of thousands of passengers who need it every year on their journey through the airport and onto aircraft. We develop our assisted travel service by listening to and collaborating with people with lived experience of disability and are committed to ensuring we meet and exceed these new guidelines as we continually seek to improve the airport experience for all our passengers.

Last week we were delighted to welcome our local MP, Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch to London Stansted Airport. ✈️ During her visit, Kemi officially opened the airport’s new domestic arrivals building, which marks the first stage of Stansted’s £1.1bn transformation and helps pave the way for a £600m expansion of the main terminal building. 800,000 passengers arriving from within the United Kingdom are expected to use the new building every year. Kemi also met with Managing Director Gareth Powell, who updated her about the airport’s record performance, plans for the next stage of Stansted’s exciting transformation, and on the airport’s ambitions for future sustainable growth. 🌱 During her visit, Kemi took the time to chat with colleagues from the customer services, security and operations teams and received a quick tour of the airfield in a new electric ranger vehicle. It was great to see our local MP back at the airport, and to celebrate this important milestone together. 🎉

🌿 Powering a Greener Future at Grove Cottage Two years after receiving a £50,000 flagship grant from the London Stansted Community Fund, Grove Cottage has now installed solar panels and thermal insulation at its £2.5m HQ in Bishop’s Stortford - cutting carbon and energy costs while supporting people with learning disabilities and special additional needs. This week, Marlon Osborne, Business Change and Readiness Director at London Stansted Airport, visited the site and said: “It’s fantastic to see the impact of the Fund’s first flagship award. Grove Cottage is a brilliant example of how this Fund can help create lasting benefits, not just for one organisation, but for the whole community.” 👏 We’re proud to have played a part in this transformative project - a brilliant example of how the Community Fund is helping build a brighter, more sustainable future for local causes. June was an incredible month for our Fly With Pride colleague community! ✈️🌈 Across our airports, we proudly unveiled our new Fly With Pride logo, designed in collaboration with our colleagues. We also transformed our check-in halls and restrooms with pride messaging. These updates created a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for both passengers and staff, reinforcing our commitment to celebrating authenticity.

🎥 A big month at London Stansted Airport! In May, the airport welcomed a record-breaking 2.74 million passengers - boosted by thousands of Tottenham fans travelling to see their team win the Europa League 🏆 This milestone came as London Stansted opened its new domestic arrivals building, part of a £1.2bn transformation project to modernise and expand.
