Liverpool City Region: the best place to grow up, grow a family, and grow a business - where no-one is left behind.
About us
Bringing together Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral to provide strategic governance and support economic growth. Working With Us We’re looking for people with the passion to deliver on our vision and help us to create a truly global and competitive city region which works for everyone. Devolution brings real powers to make policy and investment decisions that suit our own needs. We have a historic opportunity right now, with our city region growing faster than any other combined authority area, huge investment in infrastructure, and an unrivalled quality of life, with excellent cultural and leisure opportunities and affordable living costs. Yet, like all post-industrial cities, we need to work hard to ensure the benefits of growth reach everyone who lives and works here. We will invest more than £500m in the next four years, in projects which create social value and support our inclusive economy agenda, across transport, housing, skills and adult education, the social economy, business growth, innovation, land and property. Where else could you be working on projects as diverse as a £460 million investment to introduce a brand new fleet of state-of-the-art trains, a new approach to tackling homelessness, or an ambitious plan to harness the tidal power of the River Mersey and Liverpool Bay to create plentiful, predictable, renewable electricity? If you think that sounds exciting, you’re right, and we want to hear from you.

'This new beacon is a nod to our brilliant and illustrious past but also a symbol of hope for the future'. Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region has been to see an iconic piece of engineering and architectural heritage take shape at the #Liverpool entrance to the #QueenswayTunnel. While it looks like the original marble-clad obelisk that stood during the tunnel's opening in 1934, innovative new methods have been used to recreate the monument as part of a wider project to develop an inviting and accessible public space close to the tunnel entrance. Two obelisks were originally built to illuminate the tunnel entrances in Liverpool and Wirral and to symbolise the grandeur and significance of the Queensway project. The #Wirral obelisk is still standing close to the tunnel's #Birkenhead entrance. The Mayor explains more👇 Katherine Fairclough | Richard McGuckin | Tim Games | Kirsty McLean | Camilla Mankabady

Following the publication of the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Bill, the Municipal Journal has published our Chief Executive Katherine Fairclough's reflections on our devolution journey so far and what the Bill means for the future. "Now, with the Devolution Bill taking things to the next level, we know the pace will quicken. The stakes are higher. Delivery must be sharper. But I believe we’re ready. Under Mayor Steve Rotheram’s leadership, supported by six outstanding local leaders who put collective ambition ahead of individual recognition, we’ve laid solid foundations." #ThePowerOfSix #ImprovingLiverpoolCityRegion #InvestLiverpoolCityRegion #OurLiverpoolCityRegion #DevolutionRevolution #YouSaidWeDid Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region | Tim Games | Richard McGuckin | John Fogarty | Kirsty McLean | Camilla Mankabady You can read the piece here👇 https://lnkd.in/eqvCCS4p
