The Big Butterfly Count is back until 10 August! This is a hugely important nationwide survey that plays a crucial part in the fight to conserve our natural world. We’re committed as an organisation to boost biodiversity. As part of our biodiversity action plan, we’re increasing our wildflowers in our greenspaces as well as identifying more areas for reduced mowing, to make sure our wildlife residents have a home too. We'll be joining the count and we urge you to join in too. If you need some inspiration, check out these fantastic pictures from colleague Becky Simmons, Technical Administrator. She said: “I’m passionate about our butterflies and moths, and they need our help urgently. In 2022, butterfly conservation reported butterflies have decreased by 80% since 1976 and in 2024 they declared a butterfly emergency. By counting them, we can better understand what’s causing their decline and what we can do to help. Colleagues from our London Independent Living Team hosted a brilliant party for residents at Bentham House, Greenwich, London, to celebrate the scheme's tenth birthday. Charlotte Rooke, Head of Independent Living, said: "I’m incredibly proud to mark this milestone for Bentham House.
