🥾 MACMILLAN MIGHTY HIKE 🥾 Our Group Training & Development Coordinator Zoe Fitzhugh recently took on the Cotswolds Mighty Hike for Macmillan Cancer Support. Zoe and her daughter tackled the rain to complete the 26 mile hike in the beautiful English countryside, raising over £600 for the much loved charity. The duo completed the hiking marathon in 4 hours and 20 minutes, a great achievement for a great cause! ✅🏢COMPLETION OF INDIGO APARTMENTS 🏢✅ Briggs & Forrester Living have completed the MEP services installation on the Indigo Apartments project, located in Peterborough, for Willmott Dixon on behalf of Cross Keys Homes. The development houses 315 affordable homes over two blocks connected via a podium level with staggered roof levels, the tallest standing at 9 storeys. The dwellings consist of 37 townhouses and 278 apartments ranging from 1 to 3 bedrooms including a private communal courtyard, balconies and roof terraces. The ground floor areas are comprised of a small external car park of 50 spaces with 10 electric vehicle charging points, landscaped areas and back of house areas such as refuse stores, cycle stores and plantrooms. There is also an open public greenspace located at the South end of the development called Laxton Square. Originally opened in 1981 it was redesigned and fully refurbished as part of the scheme. Briggs & Forrester delivered the full design and build contract for the mechanical, electrical and public health services including life safety, security and alarm systems, domestic water and drainage, air conditioning and heating systems, sanitaryware and smoke ventilation and sprinkler systems. 🌱The development is named Indigo after a species of plant meaning a sign of hope and new beginnings, which is the vision of Cross Keys Homes with the regeneration of this site. #Excellenceateverylevel #MEPServices #SustainableLiving #UrbanRegeneration #ResidentialConstruction #constructionuk #construction #engineering #mechanicalengineering #electricalengineering

💚🐾 Supporting Local Charities and Our Wellbeing 💚🐾 Our teams continue to make the most of their volunteering days, supporting local charities and discovering just how rewarding the experience can be — not just for the causes they help, but for their own wellbeing too. Pippa Grainger from Briggs & Forrester Living Housing recently volunteered at Wellidog in Northampton — a day she described as “the best ever.” After sadly losing her two dogs in recent years and donating their belongings to the charity, Pippa said it filled her with “excitement and a heart full of love” to spend the day meeting, caring for, and cuddling the dogs. 🐶 Wellidog is currently in urgent need of blankets and duvets, if anyone is able to donate. Meanwhile, Toni Birch, Gemma Stanley, and Emma Tse from our Group Support Services team volunteered at Animals in Need Northampton, where they rolled up their sleeves to walk dogs, clean out enclosures, and help with some much-needed fence painting. 🧑🍳 SWAPPING PPE FOR APRONS 🧑🍳 Andy Lawton, Nathan Lett & Robert Suttill at Briggs & Forrester Special Projects swapped their PPE for aprons recently when they attended local charity The Hope Centre utilising their company issued volunteering day. The trio were entrusted with the food preparation at The Hope Centres Hand Up food station which provides breakfasts, hot drinks and a daily hot meal to the homeless community in the Northampton area. As some of you may know, Andy is a keen chef at home so we're sure his culinary skills served him well for the day! The experience demonstrated how you can utilise your volunteering day to make a real impact in the local community, and raise awareness of the challenges faced both in your local area and nationwide. ⭐RESIDENTIAL CONTRACT AWARD ⭐ Briggs & Forrester Living are proud to announce our involvement in the prestigious Flax Place development, located in the heart of Leeds city centre. Appointed by main contractor and client Torsion Group, Briggs & Forrester will be delivering the full mechanical and electrical works for this landmark project. 🔋SOLAR CANOPIES COMPLETION🔋 Principal Contractor Briggs & Forrester Special Projects have completed the solar PV canopies project at One Leisure Centre in St Ives, Cambridgeshire. The installation of the structure, solar panels, civils and adaptation of existing car park lighting for Client Huntingdonshire District Council forming part of the Councils goal of being net zero by 2040. The safety and segregation of the works and public was a key consideration on the project, as well as ensuring the site remained operational throughout the works. Solar canopy car parks are becoming a popular feature throughout the UK and parts of Europe, providing angled solar panels mounted on steel supports. They offer benefits two-fold by shading the vehicles parked beneath them from sun, rain and snow whilst harvesting the sunlight to provide ‘free’ power.
