Sometimes the best way to get a message across is to become the message itself! 🤔 Today, our awesome communications team worked with the epic ICG. Strategic Marketing Agency team suited up in some rather unusual work attire ... transforming into walking pieces of litter to launch our "Wish You Weren't Here!" anti-litter campaign. ❌ While it might have looked like we were having fun (and we absolutely were!), there's a serious message behind the costumes. Just last weekend during the hot weather, operational teams and volunteers collected over 50 plus bags of litter in just ONE HOUR on St Annes beach, that's approximately 10,000 pieces of rubbish including food containers, nappies, and abandoned beach toys. 🤮 Our summer campaign aims to protect Fylde's beautiful coastline, which recently earned the prestigious Blue Flag and Seaside Award for Summer 2025. We're asking everyone to bin their rubbish responsibly or take it home if bins are full. 🚮 Working alongside brilliant colleagues who aren't afraid to roll dress up as discarded crisp packets and plastic bottles? That's a core work memory I'll treasure. There's something special about a team that's willing to look a bit silly for an important cause. 🚯 Throughout the summer holidays, we'll have super-sized bins in popular areas, daily emptying schedules, and fantastic volunteer groups led by Tracey Hope, who is the real star organising evening beach cleans and Saturday morning litter picks starting at St Annes Pier. 👏 Sometimes the most impactful campaigns come from thinking outside the box (or in this case, thinking like the box that's been carelessly thrown on the beach!). 🏖
