Speed without compromise. This project for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead shows how early collaboration and streamlined procurement can get vital projects moving faster and with greater certainty. Procured through SCAPE in 2017, we began to transform York House, a vacant 1980s office block, into a modern, energy-efficient civic hub almost six months earlier than would have been possible via a traditional approach. Thanks to close collaboration and creative problem-solving, we kept most of the existing structure, quickly engaged specialists, and progressed a phased design to manage risk - all while meeting the customer’s fast-track ambitions and without compromising quality. This fast-track delivery helped: ✅ Maximise reuse of the existing structure ✅ Minimise disruption in a live town centre ✅ Support new ways of working for the council ✅ Deliver a future-ready head office, at speed It’s a clear example of how early alignment and the right procurement route can unlock results - exactly when they’re needed most. We joined our customer Barnsley Council to watch an exciting test build of one of the Yorkshire Rose sculptures that will be installed on The Seam Digital Campus. The Yorkshire Roses are made up of three stunning sculptures that once in place later this year, will serve as both a visual gateway and a powerful symbol of Barnsley’s pride, ambition, and investment in its future. Procured via SCAPE, we're currently working on Phase One of The Seam, which also includes the creation of a new urban park. Take a look at the video below to see a sneak peak of progress so far ⬇️

Earlier this week we visited manufacturers Stage One Creative Services Ltd with our contractors Willmott Dixon and Align Property Partners to see the test build of one of the Yorkshire Rose sculptures which will be installed on The Seam Digital Campus later this year. We also met with audio and lighting specialists DZA Technical Ltd., who showed us the light and sound capabilities which will make the sculptures a key part of our town centre events programme, a new visitor attraction in the heart of Barnsley, and something for the borough to be proud of. It was an exciting first look at what we can expect from the incredibly impressive structures, which were originally designed by Tim Ward of Circling the Square, and are a crucial aspect of achieving the mission in our Inclusive Economic Growth Strategy for Barnsley to become the UK's leading digital town. Our thanks go to everyone at Stage One and DZA for their hard work to date, and we can't wait to see the sculptures installed this autumn ahead of the full opening of phase one of The Seam Digital Campus next spring. #GrowingBarnsley

🌍Kelly Crews, our Head of Decarbonisation, recently joined a webinar hosted by Pagabo, focused on tackling a pressing challenge in our sector. The session explored insights from Pagabo’s latest white paper, “Driving Decarbonisation in the Public Sector,” bringing together key voices to discuss how collaboration, data-led decision-making, and whole-life thinking can accelerate change. One of the discussion points was the 2035 emissions target, and concerns among attendees around whether this goal remains achievable. Kelly offered an optimistic and pragmatic perspective: with the right funding, focused upskilling, and a strong culture of knowledge sharing, 2035 can be a realistic and achievable milestone. Funding will be crucial to scale up efforts, and addressing the industry’s skills gap must follow closely behind to enable meaningful, long-term progress. Kelly shared how real impact can be delivered through early contractor involvement, innovative retrofit solutions, and a clear focus on long-term value - all crucial to achieving net-zero goals in the public sector. Pagabo is a valued framework partner, and we’re proud to be part of these important conversations that help shape the future of sustainable construction. 👉 Read more about the webinar and key takeaways here: https://lnkd.in/e5_W_Kw9 #NetZero2035 #PublicSectorDecarbonisation #SustainableEstates #PagaboLive

"The Building Safety Act is not just regulatory. It's transformational in how we work together. It creates more predictability, transparent and accountable ways of working, and in the long run, it will save lives, reduce costs and rebuild trust of the people that live, work, learn and are cared for in your communities." At UKREiiF, Jo Weston, our National Product Manager, shared how the Building Safety Act is reshaping construction - not just through regulation, but by driving a more collaborative, future-focused way of working. Key takeaways from the session: ✅ Early appointment of the principal designer is critical ✅ Design must be comprehensive and future-oriented ✅ Communication with regulators takes time and precision ✅ Shared responsibility is key to success ✅ Flexibility and adaptability are vital as regulations evolve. 🎧 Listen to the full session as a podcast here: https://orlo.uk/0XfQZ 👉 Read Jo’s key takeaways and insight here: https://orlo.uk/1RMBY #UKREiiF2025#UKREiiF#BuildingSafetyAct Willmott Dixon Interiors

  • For over 20 years, our partnership with SCAPE has helped simplify public sector procurement - making project delivery smoother and more straightforward. In 2014, we worked with Nottingham City Council to develop a business case for the BioCity Discovery Building – a tech incubator and life sciences facility. This enabled the council to: ✅ Secure the land they needed ✅ Deliver a modern facility to support innovation ✅ Retain BioCity and its highly skilled science and tech workforce in Nottingham ✅ Create a sustainable income stream through subletting Thanks to #SCAPE and our trusted collaboration, procurement was straightforward - helping Nottingham City Council focus on delivering results. 🌅 Shaping the future of Torquay’s harbourside We’re proud to share a new fly-through of The Strand - a landmark development that reimagines a key part of the town centre. This project looks to deliver a circa 154-bedroom boutique hotel, complete with a rooftop terrace and ground floor space for food, drink and retail – all designed to reflect and support Devon’s thriving local offer. More than 150 full-time jobs could be created through this development, offering a real economic boost for the area and supporting long-term regeneration. Public consultation is still live, and we’re looking forward to hearing from the community on what this could mean for Torquay’s future. Torbay Council | Milligan | Pagabo

Last month, we hosted our first Developing Leaders Conference in the South. We designed this day to feel different, not just another industry event, but a chance to step back, hear fresh perspectives, challenge our thinking, have honest conversations about leadership and spark new ideas. We brought in inspiring speakers from outside construction, Mandy Hickson, Keith Dear, Caspar Berry, Keynote & Motivational Speaker and Cally Caroline Beaton, and it turned out to be a brilliant day, in a fantastic setting at The Kia Oval - Surrey County Cricket Club. This conference is part of a wider commitment from Willmott Dixon to invest in the people who are shaping the future of our sector not just through what they deliver, but through how they lead. We are already looking forward to repeating it all again. In the meantime, you can check out the highlights here below! #DevelopingLeaders #LeadershipDevelopment #ConstructionLeadership #WillmottDixonInteriors #IndustryEvents
