  • Over 90 children from Greenhill Sports and Recreation Centre with Football Fun Factory enjoyed meeting animals and reptiles as part of Oldham’s free Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme.🐍🐐 They also got creative with a scarecrow-making workshop at Cockfields Farm Park. 🌾 The HAF programme provides free activities and meals for children in receipt of benefit-related free school meals during the summer holidays — reflecting our commitment to giving every child the best start in life 🌟🍽️📚 Cllr Shaid Mushtaq, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, joined the children on the visit. He said: “It was fantastic to see so many children having fun while learning.   • Soon, every new household bin will come with a QR code on the front, making it quicker and easier to: ✅ Report a missed collection ✅ Check what goes in each bin ✅ Find your collection day ✅ Request an assisted collection Just scan the code with your phone to head straight to our rubbish and recycling page.   • Our fantastic Oldham Family Hubs recently hosted the first of our free Summer Park Events at Werneth Park – an afternoon filled with creative activities, outdoor games, and family-friendly fun. It was fantastic to see so many families enjoying the sunshine while accessing advice, support, and information. Families could connect, play, and learn more about the services available to them.   • We’re pleased to announce the completion of the BR144 Ash Footbridge installation 🛤️ The new pedestrian bridge is now fully open, providing a safer and more accessible route for residents 🌟 The final works, including the fitting of the safety rails, were completed by Polydeck Limited. The structure has been designed for durability and improved access, offering long-term benefits to the community. 🗯️ Cllr Chris Goodwin, Cabinet Member for Transport and Highways said: "This new footbridge is a great improvement for local residents. It shows our commitment to making walking routes safer and more accessible. I'd like to thank everyone who worked so hard to deliver this project successfully."
